Healthy Self Image

-visual and vocal image

-who you are and what you do right

-proper self image = pride

-I am not a geek sheet

-you do have self worth

Talent

-anyone on camera is referred to as talent

-just because youre a talent does not mean you have more knowledge than others

-^does not mean you are actually talented

Role Models

-physical appearance

-voice quality

-empathy

Key to credibility

-the voice

-the visual image

-how the news is communicated

-you can’t fake knowledge

Anchor/reporter = sets example

Healthy diet

The voice:

-secret weapon

-avoid broadcast gear

-a healthy voice

-no chocolate or milk - no smoking

-breathe! Just breathe!

-script marking and the prompter

-rehearse

-meaning laden words

-ad libbing

-co-anchor chemistry

-good chemistry can carry a newscast

Make-up and Hair

-HD tv’s show way more than regular tv

-details: stray hairs, lint and hair on clothes, makeup on collar, food in your teeth, untrimmed nose hairs

Skin care

-great skin is key

-proper cleansing

-Moisturizing

-eye cream

-makeup

Hair

-men:hair above collar, not too short- do not use gel

-women: hair length determined by face shape

Ladies in the field do not wear hair pins or ponytails unless weather is excessive

Wardrobe

Men: well fitting suits, pair them with nice slacks, non button down collar shirts and ties

Women: double duty clothing, avoid patterns, silks, colors that wash you out, white and pastels

-focus on contrast, keep jewelry simple, no headbands or other accessories
